Festive Friday Blog Hop

Welcome to another edition of the Festive Friday Blog Hop. I can't believe this is our fourth week of hopping. I hope we have given you a little inspiration and ideas for your Christmas cards. How many of you are joining in and creating some Christmas cards? If you are, please send me a link or a picture of what you created. I would love to see them.

If you are visiting my site, please stay and have a look around. If you would like to see some of the great creations the other ladies have made, you can start at the beginning of the hop at Terri's blog.

Here is a list of participants if you get lost along the way.

1) Terri Sproul
2) Chris Hurley
3) Cheryl Lindsey
4) Amanda Marks
5) Debbie Buckland
6) Brenda Lee Burfeind
7) Yolonda Anthony
8) Debbie Feist

For today's project, I decided to keep it super simple. The card is sized at 5.5 by 8. It is layers of squares and rectangles cut in different sizes that I designed from George and Basic Shapes. The phrase is cut at 1 inch from the Winter Frolic cartridge. All of the colored background and patterned paper are from the Mr. Frosty Imagine cartridge.

The project was designed on my Gypsy, but it is not necessary to have one to recreate this project.

New Things Coming Up

Well, I have a lot of new things coming up in the next few weeks. I will be participating a several blog hops.

The first of the hops will be tomorrow. It will be another installment of the Festive Friday Blog Hop. For those of you that are not familiar with it, this is a bi-weekly hop that features Christmas cards. Our hostess, Terri, came up with the wonderful idea of making cards and featuring them in a hop. The main objective is to create a variety of cards and by the time Christmas comes around, we will have a head start on our holiday cards. The hop is the second and fourth Friday of each month with the exception of December.

The second hop will be hosted by Kathryn of Creations with Kathryn – http://wamfamily.blogspot.com . This is a 2 day hop (March 5 & 6) where the theme is "It's All About The Green". Make sure you stop by and view all of the great projects that are being featured.

The following Friday, (March 11) we are back for yet another installment of Festive Friday. (Whew!!! Are you still following me? Ok, good, it gets even better.) On March 17, I will be in the Lucky Charm Blog Hop which is being hosted by Giselle at Cross My Heart Papercrafts & Nadia at Nadia's Beautiful Mess. I'm really excited since that is a special day for me!!! Finally, the following Friday we are back for the Festive Friday Blog Hop.

I will be posting some new projects in between all of that hopping. I will have some blog candy for some of the hops. So mark you calendars and I hope to see you soon.

My family and I are ok and safe.
We are lucky. Our house is still livable and still standing.
Just got power put on. Have water but have to boil it. We are not allowed to flush the toilet at present.

Aftershocks keep happening.
I’ve fallen apart several times.
Kids are remaining strong.
Hubby is a nurse and working hard at the hospital.
We are all having sleepless nights.

All posts after this has been nonscheduled before the quake.

Prayers for New Zealanders

As some of you may know New Zealand was hit with a horrible earthquake that measured 6.3 on the Richter Scale. Most of the city is without electricity, and communication is scarce. A member of our Festive Friday Blog Hop team, Debbie, lives in New Zealand. No information is available at this time on her safety.

Please take time to send a prayer to Debbie, her family, and the thousands of people affected by this terrible tragedy.

Blizzard 2011

OMG!!!! Is all I can say. It's about 10:00 am and it is still snowing. We are literally snowed in. I don't know how or when we will get out. I don't know how the snow plows will even get through this mess. The snow in the streets are just as high as on the sidewalks.

Check out the pics for yourself. Sorry if they are not the greatest. There were taken from inside and most of the windows are filled with snow and are foggy.

You can barely see where someone tried to use the
snow-blower to  clean. It didn't work.

The snow covers the door so much there was only an
inch of space clean
